THE HEAT OF THE DAY!

I love to sit on my porch, read
scriptures, and look at the birds
before the heat of the day arrives.
The heat of the day can be soothing
in the spring and fall.  The intense
heat of the day during the summer
is nourishing for my garden plants.
It is unhealthy for me to be in the
heat of the day when the mercury
reads 90 degrees! I have learned
to balance my activities with the
heat of the day.

The people in the Bible also understood
about the heat. The scriptures below

show how it relates their daily lives.

LIFE LESSON:

THE HEAT OF THE DAY

As long as the earth endures,

seed time and harvest, cold
and heat, summer and winter,
day and night will never cease.

As heat and drought snatch away the melted snow, so the grave snatches

away those who have sinned.

JEREMIAH  17:8

They will be like a tree planted by

the water that sends out its roots
by the stream. It does not fear
when heat comes; its leaves are
always green. It has no worries in
a year of drought and never fails
to bear fruit.”

MATTHEW  20:12

‘These who were hired last worked

only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you
have made them equal to us who
have borne the burden of the work
and the heat of the day.’

LIFE LESSON:

THE HEAT OF EMOTIONS

2 KINGS  23:26

Nevertheless, the Lord did not turn

away from the heat of his fierce anger, which burned against Judah because of
all that Manasseh had done to arouse his anger.

ISAIAH  21:15

They flee from the sword, from the

drawn sword, from the bent bow and
from the heat of battle.
