LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY Thank the Lord, "Spring is Here".  We may  still have some cool days but the birds are  singing and the trees have small leaves on them.  I have always enjoyed seeing all of the signs of a brand new season coming  forth.The Lord has blessed His people with nature's beauty during every season. I know we have Earth Day and it's trendy  to care about the environment. I learned that God's Word encourages me to respect the earth.  My Bible study has enlightened me and I plan to be more respectful of the environment in the future!  I will take the  time to recycle, repurpose, and upcycle rather than discard things.  This week I'll give scriptures which teach  that we should respect the environment. MONDAY'S SCRIPTURES:    PSALM  24:1-2 1 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. 2 For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters. LEVITICUS

MATTHEW 5: 10-12   10  Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12   Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. HISTORICAL CONTEXT Jesus was giving a sermon on a mountain  to His disciples and people who followed Him.   This sermon is called "The Sermon on the Mount".  He explained to them what behaviors and attitudes that He would bless. The result of His blessings were also explained to them. These blessings are called "The Beatitudes". I will feature the Beatitudes every day this  week. HISTORICAL CONTEXT Jesus was giving a sermon on a  mountain to His disciples and the people who followed Him. This  sermon is called " The Sermon on The Mount". His message to them was, that there are behaviors and  attitudes that He will bless. He also explained to them what the result  of His blessings would be. These blessings in the Bible are called  "The Beatitudes". I will feature  the blessings in "The Beatitudes" every day this  week.
