LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY, 1/31/14

PSALM 119:105 Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. DANIEL 2:22 He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what  is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him. JOHN 8:12  Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am  the light of the world. He who follows Me shall  not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” HISTORICAL CONTEXT The Lord talks about light in multiple Bible  verses. He tells us He that He is the Light and that you are walking in the Light when you follow Him. David,Daniel,and John were followers of the Lord. They knew first hand  how walking with The Lord brings light into  your life. David wrote more than 100 Psalms. There  are several Bible verses in which he sings  praisesunto the Lord because His Light has enriched his life. He speaks of suffering and how the Lord blessed him and answered his  prayers.  GENESIS 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife:and they shall be one flesh. HISTORICAL CONTEXT These scriptures show that the Lord had rules for married people to follow. These rules have been in place since  Adam and Eve were in the Garden. They were  followed by Mary and Joseph also. They left their parents when they got married.  Joseph did what the angel told him to do. He took his wife, Mary to Bethlehem.
