WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
I was talking to my friend last
Thursday and she said, " Happy
Palm Sunday!". I thanked her for
the greeting but felt embarrassed
because I had forgotten this holiday.
I asked for the Lord's forgiveness.
I remembered to place my Easter
wreath on my front door. I also
made a purple floral arrangement
for my deck railing. The pastor's
wife usually passes out faux palm
leaves at the Palm Sunday morning service.
I am sharing some scriptures that explain why some churches and synagogues all over the world will celebrate Palm Sunday.
LIFE LESSON:
THE MULTITUDES HONOR JESUS!
LEVITICUS 23:40
And you shall take for yourselves
on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the
boughs of leafy trees, and willows of
the brook; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.
MATTHEW 21:7-10
7 They brought the donkey and the
colt, laid their clothes on them, and
set Him on them.
8 And a very great multitude spread
their clothes on the road; others cut
down branches from the trees and
spread them on the road.
9 Then the multitudes who went
before and those who followed
cried out, saying:
“Hosanna to the Son of David!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the
name of the Lord!’Hosanna in
the highest!”
10 And when He had come into
Jerusalem, all the city was moved,
saying, “Who is this?”
JOHN 12:14-16
14 Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:
15 “Fear not, daughter of Zion;
Behold, your King is coming,
Sitting on a donkey’s colt.”
16 His disciples did not understand
these things at first;but when Jesus
was glorified, then they remembered
that these things were written about
Him and that they had done these
things to Him.
LIFE LESSON:
THERE WILL BE PALM BRANCHES
@ THE GREAT TRIBULATION!
Revelation 7:9-10
9 After these things I looked,
and behold, a great multitude
which no one could number,
of all nations, tribes, peoples,
and tongues, standing before
the throne and before the Lamb,
clothed with white robes, with
palm branches in their hands,
10 and crying out with a loud
voice, saying, “Salvation belongs
to our God who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb!”
