PERFECT GUIDEBOOK ABOUT MONEY!

It took me a while to realize you need to
be careful where you get your advice from.
Motherly advice is good sometimes.Advice
from a friend can be useful too. Some people
use a mentor or their pastor when they need
serious counsel.

In later years we learned to use the Bible as
our guidebook on parenting, marriage, money,
and relationships. I prayed for the Lord to grant
us His wisdom every day.The Bible was a perfect reference and guide because the scriptures are inspired by God.

We tried several budget and money saving tips
over the years. The only one that worked well
for us was a notebook. We recorded our all of
bill payments in the notebook each month so
we could track our expenses and budget. All
of our pocket  change  was placed in a huge
glass pig.  We were able to pay cash for our
living room set. I'll never underestimate the
power of the coins again.

Our family started paying tithes and offerings
when we joined a local church.I had discussed
with my sons, the principal of giving and so had
the Sunday School teacher. The boys wanted to
pay their own tithes from their allowance.

I am sharing some of the scriptures that helped
our family with our finances.

LIFE LESSON:

THE LORD TELLS CHURCH MEMBERS TO GIVE 10% OF OUR EARNINGS TO THE CHURCH.THE  OFFERING IS ANY AMOUNT I CHOSE TO GIVE
TO SUPPORT MY CHURCH.

MALACHI   3: 8, 10

8 “Will a man rob God?
Yet you have robbed Me!
But you say,
‘In what way have we robbed You?’
In tithes and offerings.

10  Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.

MARK 12: 43

So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury.

LIFE LESSON:

I GIVE ALMS TO CHRISTIAN CHARITIES. I DO
NOT BRAG ABOUT MY GIVING TO MY FAMILY
AND FRIENDS.

MATTHEW 6:1

“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.

LIFE LESSON:

DO NOT LOVE MONEY AND POSSESSIONS.
DO NOT DO EVIL TO OBTAIN THEM.

ECCLESIASTES 5:10

He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver; Nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This
also is vanity.

1 TIMOTHY 6:10-11

10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.

LIFE LESSON:

I SHOULD HELP OTHERS & GIVE WITH LOVE

PSALM 112: 9

He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the
poor; His righteousness endures forever; His
horn will be exalted with honor.

PROVERBS 19:17

He who has pity on the poor lends to
the Lord, And He will pay back what
he has given.

1 CORINTHIANS 13: 3

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have
not love, it profits me nothing.

LIFE LESSON:

DON'T BE WASTEFUL WITH YOUR MONEY AND POSSESSIONS THAT THE LORD HAS BLESSED
YOU WITH.

PROVERBS 21:20

There is desirable treasure,
And oil in the dwelling of the wise,
But a foolish man squanders it.

MATTHEW 25: 20-21

20 “So he who had received five talents came
and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord,
you delivered to me five talents; look, I have
gained five more talents besides them.’
21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and
faithful servant; you were faithful over a few
things,I will make you ruler over many things.
Enter into the joy of your lord.

LIFE LESSON:

THE HEAD OF THE HOUSEHOLD SHOULD PROVIDE FOR HIS FAMILY.

1 TIMOTHY  5:8

But if anyone does not provide for his own,
and especially for those of his household,
he has denied the faith and is worse than
an unbeliever.

PROVERBS  13:22

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up
for the righteous.

LIFE LESSON:

YOU SHOULD WORK IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PHYSICAL OR MENTAL DISABILITY.

2 THESSALONIANS  3:10-11

10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.
11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.

PROVERBS  22:29

Do you see a man who excels in his work?
He will stand before kings;
He will not stand before unknown men.

LIFE LESSON:

TREAT PEOPLE FAIR WHEN YOU OWN A BUSINESS. DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF
POOR PEOPLE.

PSALM 10: 2

The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor;
Let them be caught in the plots which they
have devised.

PROVERBS 13:11

Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished,
But he who gathers by labor will increase.

PROVERBS 22:16

He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches,
And he who gives to the rich,  will surely come to poverty.

PROVERBS  22:29

Do you see a man who excels in his work?
He will stand before kings. He will not stand
before unknown men.
