I recall my Sunday School teacher telling us stories about Jesus. Our minister gave sermons about the miracles performed by Jesus Christ. The scripture about the birth of Mary's baby in Matthew 1 states that he will be called, Emmanuel. 

I went to a Bible study and the subject was the names of Jesus.I was blown away when  the Bible teacher said we were going to hear 35 names for Jesus in the New Testament. I found another source that said if you add the names and titles for Jesus, the total is close  to 200!This brings new meaning to the phrase,  " power in the name of Jesus".There is a Bible  verse which says:

Philippians 2:10 

10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 

Many people in the New Testament used different names and tiles for Jesus depending on the miracle 
or circumstance they were experiencing at that time.  All of the names denote divinity to me and I bought  an embroidered scroll from the Holy Land which has all of the names for Jehovah. By, the way,this brings the total to 206 names/titles for Jesus!

I am sharing an additional 50 names today. Please
notice how awesome the names are.  Each name
has special meaning and explain how truly amazing Jesus is!

CALLED BY THE LORD, PART 6

DEPICTION OF JONAH RUNNING AWAY FROM THE LORD I was doing Bible study one night and it became clear to me that, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Deborah, Jael, Lydia, Seller of Purple, Rehab, The Twelve Disciples, and Paul were all CALLED by God. The Lord may require  some people to carry out a special task.There will be others that may be required to minister His Word and  travel around the world as a missionary.      This week I'll share scriptures about different men  and women that were called by the Lord. Some of these people were rebellious and did not want to answer His call.  All eventually did the Lord's will. Today, I will share scriptures which discuss that the Lord CALLED a man named Jonah.  He did not want to answer the Lord's call and ran away.  There were consequences to Jonah's actions. Today, I'll share scriptures which show how  a prostitute named  Rahab was used to help  Joshua's spies. Joshua, son of Nun, became  the ruler for the Israelites after Moses died. The Bible also tells us that the Lord is "not a respecter of persons"and accepts all who will respect him. It can be His will to use a harlot (prostitute)
