LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY, 1/9/14

PSALMS 34:7

The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

PSALMS 91:11-12

11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

MATTHEW 18:10

Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT 

Angels are God's messengers and are mentioned through out the Bible. Some of the Bible books that report the appearance of guardian angels God's chosen are Exodus 23, Daniel 10, Matthew 18, Acts 12 and 16, Hebrews 1, and Revelation 1 and 3. 


The scriptures mention that some of the people are frightened when they encounter angels. The angels tells them to "fear not". They are calm after the angels explain that God has sent them.

LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY

I learned about the guardian angels from
my Sunday School Teacher. I was happy
to learn that the Lord loved me enough to
send an angel to watch over me. My own life
experiences have shown me that I need the
protection of my guardian angel every day.
I have been saved from  several perils in my
lifetime. My protection from serious injury was
not a coincidence.



Prayer helped me stay calm when my boys
were teenagers. I trusted the Lord and I 
did not worry when they were away from
home. They had to drive on the dangerous
highways to school and to  their part-time
jobs. Sometimes they hung out with their
friends late at night.

I prayed for The Lord to send their guardian 
angel to protect them from auto accidents 
and other perils. The Lord always answered
my prayers. They made it home each night 
safe and sound. Of course I still pray for my 
sons even though they are adults and have
have moved away from home.

ADAM & EVE'S FAMILY TREE

DEPICTION OF ADAM & EVE WITH THEIR CHILDREN I say thank you to PBS for featuring TV shows  on researching your family tree by Heny Louis Gates, Jr.  The show was called, "Finding Your Roots". I enjoyed this show and and eventually became very good at family tree research. Genealogy was important during Bible days and the Bible book of Genesis gives us several family trees. Today I am showing Adam and Eve’s family tree.
