LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY, 1/13/14

JOHN 14:20

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

REVELATION 21: 21, 23- 25

21  The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.
24 And the nations of those who are saved] shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.
25  Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there).

EPHESIANS 5:2

And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

REVELATION 21:2, 4

2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death,

nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

REVELATION 22:1-2, 4-5

1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations
4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.
5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT

The Bible tells us about people that were allowed
to see heaven. The book of Acts 7 tells us the
Stephen gazed into heaven and saw the glory
of God.  Acts 9 tells us that Paul saw a light shine down from heaven and the Voice of God spoke to him.  In the Bible books of John 14 and Revelation
21 and 22, Paul gives a description of heaven. The Bible book of Ephesians 5 mentions that our offerings are a sweet smelling savor.

LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY

There have been many songs, poems,
and movies written about heaven.The
scriptures help me envision what it might
look like. The thought of residing at a place
which has mansions and every precious
gemstone known to man is exhilarating.
The scriptures also say that heaven has
ever bearing fruit trees, continuous daylight,
and sweet smelling aromas when we make
offerings and sacrifices.   ‘m trying to imagine
a place where no one has any pain or sorrow.

There are two main requirements that must
be met before I  can get into heaven.  I must
believe that Jesus is Lord and that He died
on the cross to save my soul.  I do “BELIEVE”
this “ GOOD NEWS” with all of my heart
and soul.

The year 2014 has already had extreme events.
I have a feeling that my faith and prayers will be important in the coming months.

Here is a wonderful website that has an article
about, “How to Get to Heaven”:
