VALENTINE'S DAY LOVE STORIES, 2/11/14

GENESIS 11:20-29

Then Abram and Nahor took wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s
wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran the father of
Milcah and the father of Iscah.

 GENESIS  11: 30-31

30 But Sarai was barren; she had no child.
31 And Terah took his son Abram and his

grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his
daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s
wife, and they went out with them from
Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of
Canaan; and they came to Haran and
dwelt there.

GENESIS 12:11-13

11 And it came to pass, when he was close
to entering Egypt, that he said to Sarai his
wife, “Indeed I know that you are a woman
of beautiful countenance.
12 Therefore it will happen, when the Egyptians

see you, that they will say, ‘This is his wife’; and
they will kill me, but they will let you live.
13 Please say you are my sister, that it may be

well with me for your sake, and that I may live because of you.”

GENESIS 16:2-4

2 So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai.
Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.

1 And Abraham journeyed from there to the South, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur, and stayed in Gerar. Now Abraham said of Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah. TODAY'S LOVE STORY:

ABRAHAM & SARAH

I chose Abraham and Sarah for today's love
story. Abraham told Sarah that she was a
beautiful woman. He asked her to agree to
tell people that she was his sister. He feared
that men would take her away from him.

Abraham and Sarah were married over 60
years. Sarah was barren and the Lord did
bless her with a son when she was ninety.
Sarah died when she was 127 yeas old.
Abraham mourned and wept for Sarah.

Some wives complain that their spouses
never tell them s compliment. Men also
enjoy compliments when they do good
jobs around the house.

Let's make a pledge to give out some
compliments Valentine's Day and in
the future.
