I was doing Bible study one night and I was curious about people who were CALLED by the Lord. Some
men and women in the Bible were asked by Him to perform various actions and missions. It was clear
to me that, Mary was CALLED by the Lord.She was chosen to be the mother of Jesus.This was an honor but she would appear to be an unwed mother! She
had not married Joseph yet.  A woman's reputation was very important during Bible days. Years later, Mary would have to endure seeing her son, Jesus nailed to the cross.

Today, I share scriptures which discuss how Mary 
was CALLED and how her life was changed forever.

LUKE 1:26-38


²⁶ Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
²⁷ to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
²⁸ And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
²⁹ But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.  
³⁰ Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.  
³¹ And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. ³² He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.  
³³ And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
³⁴ Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”
³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 
³⁶ Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 
³⁷ For with God nothing will be impossible.”
³⁸ Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.


MATTHEW  1:18-19, 21



¹⁸ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 
¹⁹ Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.

²¹ And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

LUKE 2: 4- 7

⁴ Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,  
⁵ to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. 
⁶ So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 
⁷ And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

²⁵ Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
