CALLED BY THE LORD, PART 4

I was doing Bible study one night and it became clear to me that, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Deborah, Jael, Lydia, Seller of Purple,The Twelve Disciples, and Paul were all CALLED by God.The Lord may require  some people to carry out a special task.  There will be others that may be told to minister His Word or travel the world as a missionary.

This week I'll share scriptures about different men and women that were called by the Lord. Some of these people were rebellious and did not want to answer His call.  All eventually did the Lord's will.

Today I'll share scriptures which show how the
Lord called a woman named, Lydia to help Paul.
She is the only woman in the Bible who was
described as a self employed business woman.

ACTS 16:11-15

11 Therefore, sailing from Troas, we ran a straight course to Samothrace, and the next day came to Neapolis,
12 and from there to Philippi, which is the foremost city of that part of Macedonia, a colony. And we were staying in that city for some days.
13 And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there.
14 Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.
15 And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.

An outdoor chapel on what is said to be the site where Lydia was baptized. This is the modern outdoor chapel at the site where St. Paul likely baptized Lydia, the 1st Philippian believer in Christ.
