LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY, 3/25/14

MATTHEW 5: 4-5 



4 Blessed are those who mourn,

    For they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek,

    For they shall inherit the earth.



HISTORICAL CONTEXT
Jesus was giving a sermon on a mountain
to His disciples and the people who followed
Him. This sermon is called " The Sermon on
The Mount". He explained to His Followers
what behaviors and attitudes that He would
bless and the result of His blessing. These
blessings are called "The Beatitudes". I will
feature some of "The Beatitudes" every day
this  week.

DEPICTION OF JONAH RUNNING AWAY FROM THE LORD I was doing Bible study one night and it became clear to me that, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Deborah, Jael, Lydia, Seller of Purple, Rehab, The Twelve Disciples, and Paul were all CALLED by God. Today, I'll share scriptures which show how  a prostitute named  Rahab was used to help  Joshua's spies. Joshua, son of Nun, became  the ruler for the Israelites after Moses died. ADAM & EVE'S FAMILY TREE

DEPICTION OF ADAM & EVE WITH THEIR CHILDREN I say thank you to PBS for featuring TV shows  on researching your family tree by Heny Louis Gates, Jr.  The show was called, "Finding Your Roots". I enjoyed this show and and eventually became very good at family tree research. Genealogy was important during Bible days and the Bible book of Genesis gives us several family trees. Today I am showing Adam and Eve’s family tree.
