LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY, 3/27/14

MATTHEW 5: 8-9  

8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
 For they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
   For they shall be called sons of God.




HISTORICAL CONTEXT

Jesus was giving a sermon on a mountain
to His disciples and people who followed
Him.  This sermon is called " The Sermon
on the Mount".  He explained to them what
behaviors and attitudes that He would bless
and the result of His blessing.These blessings
are called "The Beatitudes"and I will feature 
the Beatitudes every day this  week.

DEPICTION OF JONAH RUNNING AWAY FROM THE LORD I was doing Bible study one night and it became clear to me that, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Deborah, Jael, Lydia, Seller of Purple, Rehab, The Twelve Disciples, and Paul were all CALLED by God. Today, I'll share scriptures which show how  a prostitute named  Rahab was used to help  Joshua's spies. Joshua, son of Nun, became  the ruler for the Israelites after Moses died. ADAM & EVE'S FAMILY TREE

DEPICTION OF ADAM & EVE WITH THEIR CHILDREN I say thank you to PBS for featuring TV shows  on researching your family tree by Heny Louis Gates, Jr.  The show was called, "Finding Your Roots". I enjoyed this show and and eventually became very good at family tree research. Genealogy was important during Bible days and the Bible book of Genesis gives us several family trees. Today I am showing Adam and Eve’s family tree.
