2 SAMUEL 23: 2-3
2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue".
3 The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: ‘He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT
King David is near death when he spoke the words in 2 Samuel 23. He had the spirit of God in him. He had many talents and he was a musician, poet, and warrior. A lot of his words in Psalm and 2 Samuel 23 were lyrics for songs.
The Bible book Matthew 28:16-20 is often called
the "Great Commission". Jesus gives his eleven
disciples instructions just before He ascends to
heaven. He wants them make more disciples and
He wants them to be Baptised.
LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY:
"THE WITCH DOCTOR"
A few years ago we had a guess speaker at our church. I wondered if he was supposed to be a famous person since he had traveled from Africa.The hair on the back of my neck stood up as soon
as he came to the podium. I had heard people say
these words but didn't know what they meant. I
found out that Sunday. He said that he used to be
a witch doctor. You could hear a pin drop because
the church was so quite. He said the people in his village were afraid of him. He was very evil and his powers were talked about all over Africa. The people would do anything for him because they were afraid he would kill them.
One day he decided to take a nap. It was a very
hot day and he opened the window. Every time he
laid down, the window would close. He tried to open this window three times. The last time he laid down he noticed he noticed something flying around the room. It was a white bird. He kept trying to shoo
the bird out of the window. He was unsuccessful
and he took a close look at this worrisome creature. He saw that this was no ordinary bird. It was a white dove. He began to shake all over. He was from the second generation of witch doctors. He was told to
be afraid of white doves. He didn't understand these
instructions since had seen any white doves in his
village. His mentor said that they represented a pure spirit and it hated evil. He was frightened and got on his bed in a fetal position. The dove sat on the foot of his bed and would not go away. He was so terrified
that he began pray and declared that he would stop
being a witch doctor. He would only do good things
in the future.
He has been traveling the world ever since. He said
the first good deed he did was to tell the women in his village to stop doing abortions. He told them that it was evil.
I left church feeling anxious. I had not thought about this man for years. I did remember his speech after
