Then David danced before the Lord with all
his might...


HISTORICAL CONTEXT


 There are many books in the Bible that describe
David and many other people dancing. The books include Exodus, Ecclesiastes, Psalms, Jeremiah, Judges, Luke, and Matthew. The dancing was
usually associated in response to birth, a good harvest and other pleasant events in the Bible.  


LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY
 

The emphasis for this life lesson is on, “ David’s dancing before the Lord". Think about the last 
time you felt like dancing. A person who had a 
healing of a chronic disease may feel like dancing before the Lord. Another person may want to 
dance if they received a pay raise, a day off from work, or the arrival of a healthy new baby. It is probably hard to stay happy enough to feel like dancing everyday. I start with being happy to be
alive to see another day. My sister died at age
24 due to a undiagnosed pituitary tumor. I have learned to cherish waking up to see another day
since that time.

DEPICTION OF ADAM & EVE WITH THEIR CHILDREN I say thank you to PBS for featuring TV shows  on researching your family tree by Heny Louis Gates, Jr.  The show was called, "Finding Your Roots". I enjoyed this show and and eventually became very good at family tree research. Genealogy was important during Bible days and the Bible book of Genesis gives us several family trees. Today I am showing Adam and Eve’s family tree.
