VISION OF TRUE LOVE!

What is true love?  Do we believe the portrayal of it on the T.V. and movies?
I think not! Their version give us many examples of lust and promiscuous acts most of the time.

I discovered a beautiful scripture this week that I do not remember reading before. It was found in 1 Corinthians.

LIFE LESSON:

HERE IS THE MEANING OF TRUE LOVE:

1 CORINTHIANS  13:4-7

4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;

6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;

7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

I love hearing about how couples met.  Some of these stories are heart warming
and make me smile.  he Bible has some love stories that I want to share today:

ADAM & EVE

GENESIS 3: 6-8, 20, 22-23

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant
to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate.
She also gave to her husband with her,
and he ate.
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
And they heard the sound of the
Lord God walking in the garden in
the cool of the day, and Adam and
his wife hid themselves from the
presence of the Lord God among
the trees of the garden.

20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”
23 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was take
GENESIS 4:1-2, 25
Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and
she conceived and bore Cain, and said,
“I have acquired a man from the Lord.”
Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper
of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

25 And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.

ABRAHAM & SARAH

GENESIS 11: 29-30

29 Then Abram and Nahor took wives:
the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai...
30 But Sarai was barren; she had no
child.

GENESIS 12: 11-13

11 And it came to pass, when he was close to entering Egypt, that countenance. he said to Sarai his wife, “Indeed I know that you are a woman of beautiful
12 Therefore it will happen, when the Egyptians see you, that they will say,
‘This is his wife’; and they will kill me,
but they will let you live.
13 Please say you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that I  may live because of you.”

GENESIS 21:2

For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

GENESIS 23:2

So Sarah died in Kirjath Arba (that
is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan,
and Abraham came to mourn for
Sarah and to weep for her.

JACOB & RACHEL

GENESIS  29: 5-6, 18, 20, 25-30

Then he said to them, “Do you know Laban the son of Nahor?”
And they said, “We know him.”
So he said to them, “Is he well?”
And they said, “He is well. And look, his daughter Rachel is coming with the sheep.

18 Now Jacob loved Rachel; so he said,
“I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.”

20 So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed only a few
days to him because of the love he
had for her.

25 So it came to pass in the morning, that behold, it was Leah. And he said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served you? Why then have you deceived me?”
26 And Laban said, “It must not be done so in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.
27 Fulfill her week, and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve with me still another seven years.”
28 Then Jacob did so and fulfilled her week. So he gave him his daughter Rachel as wife also.
29 And Laban gave his maid Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as a maid.
30 Then Jacob also went in to Rachel, and he also loved Rachel more than Leah. And he served with Laban still another seven years.

BOAZ & RUTH

RUTH 2: 1, 5, 11, 14

1 There was a relative of Naomi’s husband, a man of great wealth, of the family of Elimelech. His name was Boaz.

5 Then Boaz said to his servant who was
in charge of the reapers, “Whose young woman is this?”

11 And Boaz answered and said to her,
“It has been fully reported to me, all
that you have done for your mother-
in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you
did not know before.

14 Now Boaz said to her at mealtime, Come here, and eat of the bread, and
dip your piece of bread in the vinegar.
So she sat beside the reapers, and he passed parched grain to her; and she
ate and was satisfied, and kept some
back.

RUTH 4:13

So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife; and when he went in to her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bore
a son.
