I have seen a lot movies about the Bible.
Some of them showed the people dancing
and playing instruments.  I used to think 
this was Hollywood glamorizing the lives 
of people in the Bible. 

I learned from doing Bible Study that music 
played a vital role in the lives of the people. 
Archaeologist have found data written about
music. Musical figurines and drums have been
unearthed during archaeological digs.
I was amazed that some of the instruments
mentioned in the Bible are still used today.  

The following scriptures describe the musical instruments in the Bible:

DANIEL  3:15 

Now if you are ready at the time you hear the
sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, 
in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall
down and worship the image which I have made, good!


PSALM 150: 3-5

3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!


JOB 21:12  

12 They sing to the tambourine and harp,
And rejoice to the sound of the flute.

ADAM & EVE'S FAMILY TREE

DEPICTION OF ADAM & EVE WITH THEIR CHILDREN I say thank you to PBS for featuring TV shows  on researching your family tree by Heny Louis Gates, Jr.  The show was called, "Finding Your Roots". I enjoyed this show and and eventually became very good at family tree research. Genealogy was important during Bible days and the Bible book of Genesis gives us several family trees. Today I am showing Adam and Eve’s family tree.
