LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY, 7/10/14

DEPICTION OF ISRAELITES GATHERING MANNA FROM HEAVEN

This week I'll share scriptures in the Old Testament that described some of the Miracles performed by God.
Moses was appointed by God to take the Israelites
to the Promised Land  flowing with milk and honey.
A lot of miracles were performed during their travels. On 7/9/14 I looked at the miracle of the burning bush and miracles God performed on Moses.  Today,  I will reveal more miracles that happened concerningMoses and the Israelites.

LIFE LESSON:

GOD'S MIRACLE:  BREAD FROM HEAVEN FOR THE ISRAELITES.

EXODUS 16: 11-13, 15-16, 31

11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
12   “I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall
eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. And you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’”
13 So it was that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the dew
lay all around the camp.

15 So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was.
And Moses said to them, “This is the bread which the Lord has given you to eat.
16   This is the thing which the Lord has commanded: ‘Let every man gather it according to each one’s need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons;   let every man take for those who are in his tent.’”

31 And the house of Israel called its name Manna.  And it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.

LIFE LESSON:

GOD'S MIRACLE: STAFF TURNS INTO A SNAKE

EXODUS  4:3

The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.”
Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it.

 EXODUS 7: 8-13

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron,
“When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Perform a miracle,’
then say to Aaron,  ‘Take your staff and throw it
down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a snake.”
10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.
11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts:
12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.
13 Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard and he would
not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.
