THE PRAYER LIFE! # 8

"MOSES", OPERA BY MYROSLAV SKORYK

SCENE:  Moses Prays To God To Lead Them Into The Promised Land

Moses was a devoted follower of the Lord.  He communicated and prayed
with Him often while he was the leader
of the Israelites.

I am sharing a few more scriptures that discuss Moses' Prayer Life.

LIFE LESSON:

THE PRAYERS OF MOSES

EXODUS 32:11, 13-14

11Then Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, and said: “Lord, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?.
13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’”
14 So the Lord relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people.

DEUTERONOMY 3:29-30, 33-34

29 Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.
30 So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.

33 And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
34 But whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with Him, he would take the veil off until he came out; and he would come out and speak to the children of Israel whatever he had been commanded.

DEUTERONOMY 4:22-24

22 But I must die in this land, I must not cross over the Jordan; but you shall cross over and possess that good land.
23 Take heed to yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the Lord your God which He made with you, and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of anything which the Lord your God has forbidden you.
24 For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

DEUTERONOMY 9:25-26

25 “Thus I prostrated myself before the Lord; forty days and forty nights I kept prostrating myself, because the Lord had said He would destroy you.
26 Therefore I prayed to the Lord, and said: ‘O Lord God, do not destroy Your people and Your inheritance whom You have redeemed through Your greatness, whom You have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

DEUTERONOMY 34: 5-8

So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.
And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but no one knows his grave to this day.
Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.
And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. So the days of weeping and mourning for Moses ended.

PSALM 90: 1-4
1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth,Or ever You had formed the earth and the world,Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
You turn man to destruction,
And say, “Return, O children of men.”
For a thousand years in Your sight
Are like yesterday when it is past,
And like a watch in the night.

HEBREWS 20:28

Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
