TREMBLE WHEN YOU HEAR THAT TRUMPET!

www.messiah3.org

There is a lot of discussions about
the blowing of the trumpet in the
Bible. It was used during holy feast
and ceremonies and during offerings
to the Lord.  Some warriors blew it
as a warning at the start of a battle.

In the Bible book of Psalm, David said
blow the trumpet when we give praise
to the Lord.

The Hebrews also had a musical instrument called the Shofar. It is made from a ram’s horn. It is still used in their synagogue services today.

Several times it was used when the Lord needed to get people’s attention. A lot
of the people trembled when they heard trumpets blow.  They realized life changing events were about to happen.

The scriptures given today will concentrate on events that involve the Lord and the blowing of the trumpet.

LIFE LESSON:

THE LORD & THE SOUND OF THE TRUMPET!

EXODUS 19:16 & 19

16 Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.

19 And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice.

EXODUS 20:18

Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.

PSALM 47:5

God has gone up with a shout, The Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

ISAIAH 18:3-5

3 All inhabitants of the world and dwellers on the earth:
When he lifts up a banner on the mountains, you see it;
And when he blows a trumpet, you hear it.
For so the Lord said to me,
“I will take My rest,
And I will look from My dwelling place
Like clear heat in sunshine,
Like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.”
For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect
And the sour grape is ripening in the flower,

He will both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks,
And take away and cut down the branches.

AMOS  3:6-8

If a trumpet is blown in a city, will not the people be afraid?
If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it?

Surely the Lord God does nothing,
Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.
A lion has roared!
Who will not fear?
The Lord God has spoken!
Who can but prophesy?

ZECHARIAH 9:14

Then the Lord will be seen over them, And His arrow will go forth like lightning. The Lord God will blow the trumpet, And go with whirlwinds from the south.
