DREAMS & VISION, ANYONE? #11

Paul the Apostle, by  Rembrandt,  c. 1657

A man named Saul persecuted Jews who believed
in Jesus. The Lord confronted Saul on his way to
Damascus. He changed his life and became a devout
follower. Saul's name was later changed to Paul.

Today, I'll share some scriptures about Paul’s new
life and his visions.

LIFE LESSON:

PAUL HAD VISIONS IN DAMASCUS & JERUSALEM

ACTS 9:3-9

As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.
Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
And he said, “Who are You, Lord?”
Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”
So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”
Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one.
Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus.
And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

ACTS  16:8-10

So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.
And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.

ACTS 18:9-11

Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent;
10 For I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.”
11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

ACTS 22: 17-21

17 “Now it happened, when I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, that I was in a trance
18 And saw Him saying to me, ‘Make haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, for they will not receive your testimony concerning Me.’
19 So I said, ‘Lord, they know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believe on You.
20 And when the blood of Your martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by consenting to his death, and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.’
21 Then He said to me, ‘Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles.’”\

LIFE LESSON:

PAUL TALKS ABOUT OTHER VISIONS

2 Corinthians 12:1-4

It is doubtless not profitable for me (PAUL) to boast. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord:
I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven.
And I know such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows—
4 How he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
