LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY, 6/13/14
I discovered during my Bible study that the
clothing that the Father wore was important.
His clothing was sometimes described as hem
of His garment, His raiment, His tunic, train of
His robe, and His garment. His clothing always
had supernatural power and had an influence
on the people who encountered it.
The following scriptures demonstrate the power
of His clothing:
LIFE LESSON:
THE PROPHET ISAIAH SAW THE LORD'S ROBE FILL THE TEMPLE
ISAIAH 6:1, 3-4
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
3 And one (SERAPHIM) cried to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”
The whole earth is full of His glory!”
4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
LIFE LESSON:
THE LORD'S CLOTHING IS MAJESTIC
Psalm 93:1
The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty;
The Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself
The Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself
with strength. Surely the world is established,
so that it cannot be moved.
ISAIAH 63:1
Who is this who comes from Edom,
With dyed garments from Bozrah,
This One who is glorious in His apparel,
Traveling in the greatness of His strength?—
With dyed garments from Bozrah,
This One who is glorious in His apparel,
Traveling in the greatness of His strength?—
“I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
LIFE LESSON:
MANY PEOPLE WERE MADE WELL WHEN THEY TOUCH HIS GARMENT
Matthew 14:34-36
Many Touch Him and Are Made Well
34 When they had crossed over, they came to the land of[ Gennesaret.35 And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent out into all that surrounding region, brought to Him all who were sick, 36 and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.
LIFE LESSON:
THE SOLDIERS FULFILLED A SCRIPTURE WHEN THEY CAST LOTS FOR JESUS' TUNIC.
JOHN 19:23
23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece.
24 They said therefore among themselves, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says:
“They divided My garments among them,And for My clothing they cast lots.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.
