LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY, 5/2/14

I have been hearing sermons on TV and  at  church about,  "Jesus Is Coming Back Soon" for several years. There have even  been some pastors that try to give us the day that this will happen. Each predicted date always passes with this great event  never occurring.
The Bible book 2 Peter 3 says:

...that with the Lord one day is as a thousand  years.

Wow, I'm still trying to let this sink in my brain.

This week I'll give scriptures which talk this subject.  The scriptures below show that Jesus' disciples were  curious about this also.  Jesus always wanted them  to focus on  their preparation  for the Lord's return.  Would they be ready and would the Lord say, " Well  done my faithful servant?"

THE COMFORT OF CHRIST'S RETURN


 


MATTHEW  24:30

Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in 
heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will
mourn, and the will see the Son of Man coming
on the clouds of heaven with power and great
glory. 


 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-15


13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
 
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming
of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.

CALLED BY THE LORD, PART 6

DEPICTION OF JONAH RUNNING AWAY FROM THE LORD I was doing Bible study one night and it became clear to me that, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Deborah, Jael, Lydia, Seller of Purple, Rehab, The Twelve Disciples, and Paul were all CALLED by God. The Lord may require  some people to carry out a special task.There will be others that may be required to minister His Word and  travel around the world as a missionary.      This week I'll share scriptures about different men  and women that were called by the Lord. Some of these people were rebellious and did not want to answer His call.  All eventually did the Lord's will.
