LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY, 5/21/14
This week I'll feature scriptures that will discuss the word "bread". I realized how ignorant I was for not understanding that bread had several meanings in
the Bible. The scriptures show that bread can have
a literal and figurative meaning.
LIFE LESSON:
BREAD OF AFFLICTION CAN BE FIGURATIVE FOR SUFFERING, OPPRESSION, OR CAUSING PAIN TO THE BODY
DEUTERONOMY 16:3
You shall eat no leavened bread with it; seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, that is, the bread of affliction (for you came out of the land of Egypt in haste), that you may remember the day in which you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.
1 KINGS 22:27
And say, ‘Thus says the king: “Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction, until I come in peace.”
