LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY, 5/1/14

I have been hearing sermons on TV and 
at  church about,  "Jesus Is Coming Back
Soon" for several years. There have even 
been some pastors that try to give us the
day that this will happen. Each predicted
date always passes with this great event 
never occurring.

The Bible book 2 Peter 3 says:

...that with the Lord one day is as a thousand 
years.

Wow, I'm still trying to let this sink in my brain.

This week I'll give scriptures which talk this subject. 
The scriptures below show that Jesus' disciples were 
curious about this also.  Jesus always wanted them 
to focus on  their preparation  for the Lord's return. 
Would they be ready and would the Lord say, " Well 
done my faithful servant?"

1 JOHN  3:1-3



1
Behold what manner of love the Father has

bestowed on us, that we should be called

children of God! Therefore the world does

not know us, because it did not know Him. 


2
Beloved, now we are children of God; and

it has not yet been revealed what we shall
be, but we know that when He is revealed, 
we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him 
as He is.


3 
And everyone who has this hope in Him

purifies himself, just as He is pure.

CALLED BY THE LORD, PART 6

DEPICTION OF JONAH RUNNING AWAY FROM THE LORD I was doing Bible study one night and it became clear to me that, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Deborah, Jael, Lydia, Seller of Purple, Rehab, The Twelve Disciples, and Paul were all CALLED by God. The Lord may require  some people to carry out a special task.There will be others that may be required to minister His Word and  travel around the world as a missionary.      This week I'll share scriptures about different men  and women that were called by the Lord. Some of these people were rebellious and did not want to answer His call.  All eventually did the Lord's will. Today, I will share scriptures which discuss that the Lord CALLED a man named Jonah.  He did not want to answer the Lord's call and ran away.  There were consequences to Jonah's actions.
