DEPICTION OF ADAM & EVE WITH THEIR CHILDREN I say thank you to PBS for featuring TV shows on researching your family tree by Heny Louis Gates, Jr. The show was called, "Finding Your Roots". I enjoyed this show and and eventually became very good at family tree research. Genealogy was important during Bible days and the Bible book of Genesis gives us several family trees. Today I am showing Adam and Eve’s family tree. GENESIS 2: 18, 22-24 18 And the Lord God said, “ It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him. 22 Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. 23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” 24 Therefore ...
LIFE LESSON: RACHEL, THE SHEPHERDESS Genesis 29:6, 9 6 So he said to them, “Is he well?” And they said, “He is well. And look, his daughter Rachel is coming with the sheep.” 9 Now while he was still speaking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep, for she was a shepherdess. LIFE LESSON: ZIPPORAH, THE SHEPHERDESS Exodus 2:16-17, 21 16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew water, and they filled the troughs to water their father’s flock. 17 Then the shepherds came and drove them away; but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock. 21 Then Moses was content to live with the man, and he gave Zipporah his daughter to Moses.
I am spending my days cleaning up Christmas debris. All of the Holiday food has been eaten and the tree must come down. I am considering how to make the year 2015 better. I am pondering how to continue to improve my Christian walk with God. I'll be sharing scriptures this week that discuss a new day. These are scriptures I can stand on in 2015. Psalm 65:11 You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance. Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
