VALENTINE'S DAY LOVE STORIES, 2/12/14
GENESIS 2:20-24
20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.
22 Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
GENESIS 3: 12-13
13 And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
GENESIS 3:23-24
23 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.

25 And Adam knew
his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, “For God has
appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.
GENESIS 5: 3-5
3 And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.
4 After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters.
5 So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.

TODAY'S LOVE STORY:
ADAM & EVE
I was hesitant to do Adam and Eve because they
had so much turmoil in their lives. I had a hard time considering them as part of a love story. Their sins played a part in how humanity behaves today. They ate from the forbidden tree and received punishment for this. Adam and his descendants would have to work for their food, clothing and shelter in the future.
Eve and all women would suffer in childbirth and have menstrual periods in the future. All mankind must die and return to dust. Their son Cain killed his brother Abel.
After I examined the scriptures I realized that Adam did care for Eve. He named her woman, said she was the flesh of his flesh, and the mother of all living.They hid together in the Garden of Eden after they ate from the forbidden tree. The Lord had already told them the rule for marriage. The man must leave his mother and father and join his wife. The husband and wife should become one. The Bible mentions the names of 3 of their children ( Cain, Abel, and Seth) but also said that
they had other sons and daughters. Adam lived to be 930 years old. I could not a scripture in the Bible that stated how long Eve lived.
