VALENTINE'S DAY LOVE STORIES, 2/10/14
MATTHEW 1:18-20
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows:
After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with
child of the Holy Spirit.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man,
and not wanting to make her a public example,
was minded to put her away secretly.
20 But while he thought about these things, behold,
an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to
take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

41 His parents went to Jerusalem every
year at the Feast of the Passover.
42 And when He was twelve years old,
they went up to Jerusalem according to
the custom of the feast.
48 So when they saw Him, they were
amazed; and His mother said to Him,
“Son, why have You done this to us?
Look, Your father and I have sought
You anxiously.”
TODAY'S LOVE STORY : MARY & JOSEPH
I chose Mary and Joseph because
they were truly a match made in
heaven. There is not any mention
of Mary and Joseph being in love.
This isn't very unusual because of
the religious customs during Bible
days. The two of them make an idea
couple. Mary was so holy that she
was chosen by God to be the mother
of Jesus. Joseph was very devout
because he followed all of the Lord's
commands without asking questions.
He agreed to marry a woman who was
pregnant when he married her. He even
desired to keep her out of sight from the
public because of the strict moral codes
in place during Bible days. He seemed to
be devoted to Mary and didn't pressure
her to consummate their marriage before
Jesus' birth. They apparently had a close
relationship because they both went to
look for Jesus when he didn't return home.
The scriptures show that Mary and Joseph
had 4 more sons.
