YOU ARE HANDSOME! #3

In the Bible book 1 Samuel the Lord tells Samuel how to select a replacement for King Saul. He was told to look at the man’s heart, not his outward appearance. I will
remember this advice when I chose my
friends in the future.
Today, I'm sharing scriptures about David.
He even had good looks and good character
when he was a boy. He was skilled with a
sling shot and slayed a giant. King Saul did like him and made him an armor bearer.
He would eventually become a mighty
king.

LIFE LESSON:
KING DAVID, HANDSOME & WISE
1 SAMUEL 16: 1, 11-12, 21-23
1 And
Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There
remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.”
And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.”
12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!”
21 So David came to Saul and stood
before him. And he loved him greatly, and he became his armorbearer.
22 Then
Saul sent to Jesse, saying, “Please let David stand before me, for he has found
favor in my sight.”
23 And so it was, whenever the spirit from
God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his
hand.
1 SAMUEL 17:42
And when the
Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he
was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking.
1 SAMUEL 18: 5, 14-16
5 So
David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved wisely. And Saul set
him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people and
also in the sight of Saul’s servants.
14 And
David behaved wisely in all his ways, and the Lord
was with him.
15 Therefore, when Saul saw that he
behaved very wisely, he was afraid of him.
16 But
all Israel and Judah loved David, because he went out and came in before them.
2 SAMUEL 5:12
So David
knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel,
and
that He had exalted His kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.
ACTS 13:21-22
21 And afterward they asked for a king;
so God gave them Saul the son of Kish,
a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.
22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king,to
whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’
