YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL #5
The topics in the
Bible are so vast, that
I over-looked comments about
beautiful
people. I decided to do in
depth study
about this topic.
Today, I am sharing
scriptures about Eve.
The Bible book of
Genesis tells us the
first woman is named Eve. The Bible scriptures do not state that she was
beautiful or lovely. The name Eve means
the mother of all living. This would mean
all living beautiful things in Universe too.
I'm also looking at Shulamite women today.
LIFE LESSON:
EVE, THE FIRST WOMAN
GENESIS 2: 20-22
20 So Adam gave
names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field.
But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on
Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its
place.
22 Then the rib
which the Lord God had taken from
man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
GENESIS 3: 11-13, 20
11 And He said,
“Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which
I commanded you that you should not eat?”
12 Then the man
said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree,
and I ate.”
13 And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is
this you have done?”
The
woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
20 And Adam
called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
LIFE LESSON:
ABISHAG, THE SHULAMITE WOMAN
1KINGS 1:3-4
1 Now King David was old, advanced in
years; and they put covers on him, but he could not get warm.
2 Therefore his servants said to him,
“Let a young woman, a virgin, be sought for our lord the king, and let her
stand before the king, and let her care for him; and let her lie in your bosom,
that our lord the king may be warm.”
3 So they sought for a lovely young
woman throughout all the territory of Israel, and found Abishag the Shunammite,
and brought her to the king.
4 The young woman was very
lovely; and she cared for the king, and served him; but the king did not know
her.
1
KINGS 1:15
So Bathsheba
went into the chamber to the king. (Now the king was very old, and Abishag
the Shunammite was serving the king.)
1 KINGS 2:15-18,
20-22
15 Then he said,
“You know that the kingdom was mine, and all Israel had set their expectations
on me, that I should reign. However, the kingdom has been turned over, and has
become my brother’s; for it was his from the Lord.
16 Now I ask one
petition of you; do not deny me.”
And
she said to him, “Say it.”
17 Then he said,
“Please speak to King Solomon, for he will not refuse you, that he may give me
Abishag the Shunammite as wife.”
18 So Bathsheba
said, “Very well, I will speak for you to the king.”
20 Then she said, “I desire one small petition of you; do not refuse me.”
And the king said to her, “Ask it, my mother, for I will not refuse you.”
21 So she said, “Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother as wife.”
22 And King Solomon answered and said to his mother, “Now why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also—for he is my older brother—for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.”
LIFE LESSON:
KING SOLOMON & A SHULAMITE
WOMAN
Song of Solomon 2:14
“O my dove, in the
clefts of the rock,
In the secret places
of the cliff,
Let me see your face,
Let me hear your
voice;
For your voice is
sweet,
And your face is
lovely.”
