YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! #6
The Queen of Sheba enters Jerusalem, Ethiopian fresco
en.wikipedia.org
I’ve seen
movies and read books
that portrayed the Queen of Sheba
as a
beautiful woman. The Bible
scriptures do
not specifically
say
that she was beautiful. Ancient
African drawings display her as
a beautiful queen. The scriptures
will
show that King Solomon was
impressed by her persona.
I am adding scriptures discussing
the life of beautiful Hadassah. She eventually became known as Queen
Esther!
LIFE LESSON:
QUEEN OF
SHEBA & KING SOLOMON
1
KINGS 10: 1-3, 13
1 Now when the Queen of Sheba heard of
the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to test him with hard
questions.
2 She came to Jerusalem with a very
great retinue, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious
stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in
her heart.
3 So Solomon answered all her
questions; there was nothing so difficult for the king that he could not
explain it to her.
13 Now King Solomon gave the Queen
of
Sheba all she desired, whatever she asked, besides what Solomon had given
her
according to the royal generosity.So
she turned and went to her own country,
she and her servants.

LIFE LESSON:
ESTHER, DAUGHTER OF ABIHAIL
ESTHER 2:7, 15-16
7 And
Mordecai had brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s
daughter, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman was lovely
and beautiful. When her father and mother died, Mordecai took her as his own
daughter.
15 Now when
the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai,
who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing
but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther
obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her.
16 So Esther
was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is
the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.
ESTHER 5:
1-4
1 Now it
happened on the third day that Esther put her royal robes
and stood in the inner court of the king’s palace, across from the king’s
house, while the king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, facing the
entrance of the house.
2 So it was,
when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she
found favor in his sight, and the king held out to Esther the golden
scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther went near and touched
the top of the scepter.
3 And the
king said to her, “What do you wish, Queen Esther? What is your
request? It shall be given to you—up to half the kingdom!”
4 So Esther
answered, “If it pleases the king, let the king and Haman come today to the
banquet that I have prepared for him.”
ESTHER 6: 14
While they were still talking with him, the king’s eunuchs came, and hastened to bring Haman to the banquet which Esther had prepared.
