ARE YOU MISBEHAVING?
I heard a sermon
Sunday about,"The
Last Days.”The pastor said
that he
would be talking about how
things
will be right before Jesus
returns.
I assumed he would be telling me
about dark days of gloom and doom.
He surprised me. He said that there
would signs of moral decay in our
society. I was inspired to investigate
this concept for
myself.
My Bible study lead
me to scriptures
which clearly describe people's actions when Jesus' return was near.
Here are some of the scriptures:
LIFE LESSON:
BEHAVIOR OF PEOPLE IN LAST DAYS
2 TIMOTHY 3:1-9
1 But know this, that
in the last days perilous times will come:
2 For men will be
lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents,
unthankful, unholy,
3 unloving,
unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control,brutal, despisers
of
good,
4 traitors,
headstrong, haughty, lovers
of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 having a form of
godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn
away!
6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,
7 always learning and
never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and
Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the
truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved
concerning the faith;
9 but they will
progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs
also was.
JAMES 5:1-6
1 Come now, you rich,
weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you!
2 Your riches are
corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.
3 Your gold and
silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you
and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in
the last days.
4 Indeed the wages of
the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the
reapers have reached
the ears of the
Lord of Sabaoth.
5 You have lived on
the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened
your hearts as in a day of slaughter.
6 You have condemned,
you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.
2 PETER 3 1-5, 7
1 Beloved, I now
write to you this second epistle (in both of which I
stir up your pure minds by way of reminder),
2 That you may be
mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy
prophets, and of the commandment of us,
the apostles of the
Lord and Savior.
3 Knowing this first:
that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according
to
their own lusts.
4 And saying, “Where the promise of His
coming? For since the fathers fell asleep,
all things continue
as they were from the beginning of creation.”
5 For this they
willfully forget: that by
the word of God the heavens were of old,
and the earth standing out of water and
in the water.
7 But the heavens and
the earth which
are now preserved by the same word, are
reserved for fire until the day of judgment
and perdition of
ungodly men.
