I DON'T WANT TO PERISH! #3

The word perish makes me think of Jonah.  He didn't want to obey God 
and go to Nineveh.He ran away and 
got on a ship with some men.  The
men didn't want to perish, so they 
threw Jonah overboard.

 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:

JONAH  1:14-15 

14 Therefore they cried out to the 
Lord and said, “We pray, O Lord, 
please do not let us perish for this
man’s  life,  and do not charge us 
with innocent blood; for You, O  
Lord, have done as it pleased 
You.”  
15 So they picked up Jonah and threw
him into the sea, and the sea ceased
from its raging.

PSALM 1:6

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly
shall perish.


PSALM 37:20

But the wicked shall perish; And the enemies of the Lord, Like the splendor
of the meadows,shall vanish.Into smoke
they shall vanish away.


 
PSALM 68:2

As smoke is driven away, So drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So
let the wicked perish at the presence of God.


PSALM 112:10

The wicked will see it and be grieved;
He will gnash his teeth and melt away; 
The desire of the wicked shall perish.

PROVERBS  10:28


The hope of the righteous will be
gladness, But the expectation of
the wicked will perish.



PROVERBS   28:28

When the wicked arise, men hide themselves; But when they perish,
the righteous increase.

2 PETER  2:12

But these, like natural brute beasts 
made to be caught and destroyed,
speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish
in their own corruption.


JUDE  1:11 

Woe to them! For they have gone in 
the way of Cain, have run greedily
in the error of Balaam for profit, 
and perished in the rebellion of
Korah.

CALLED BY THE LORD, PART 6

DEPICTION OF JONAH RUNNING AWAY FROM THE LORD I was doing Bible study one night and it became clear to me that, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Deborah, Jael, Lydia, Seller of Purple, Rehab, The Twelve Disciples, and Paul were all CALLED by God. The Lord may require  some people to carry out a special task.There will be others that may be required to minister His Word and  travel around the world as a missionary.      This week I'll share scriptures about different men  and women that were called by the Lord. Some of these people were rebellious and did not want to answer His call.  All eventually did the Lord's will. Today, I will share scriptures which discuss that the Lord CALLED a man named Jonah.  He did not want to answer the Lord's call and ran away.  There were consequences to Jonah's actions.
