PRAISE THE LORD, MUSIC
I think of church choirs when I hear the word praise. I can see the choir members singing and the musicians strumming their instruments.
I'm sharing some scriptures which show how people praised God during the Bible days.
LIFE LESSON:
PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SINGING PRAISES TO THE LORD FOR AGES!
JUDGES 5:3
“Hear, O kings! Give ear, O princes! I, even I, will sing to the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel.
1 CHRONICLES 23:5
Four thousand were gatekeepers,
and four thousand praised the Lord
with musical instruments, “which I
made,” said David, "for giving praise.”
1 CHRONICLES 25:3
Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six,
under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a
harp to give thanks and to praise
the Lord.
2 CHRONICLES 5:13
Indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as
one, to make one sound to be
heard in praising and thanking
the Lord, and when they lifted
up their voice with the trumpets
and cymbals and instruments of
music,and praised the Lord, saying:
“For He is good, For His mercy
endures forever,”that the house,
the house of the Lord, was filled
with a cloud,
NEHEMIAH 12:46
For in the days of David and Asaph
of old there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute
and harp!
4 Praise Him with the timbrel and
dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
