NEW IN JESUS
The word new makes me think of new
life, new baby, new clothes, and new house. Some people may get images
of something fresh, beautiful, blemish
free and perfect.
I love the spring season because
God let's nature come alive again.
The trees get new leaves on their branches. Perennial plants get new
blooms and flowers. The smell of
magnolia and gardenia flowers can
be intoxicating.
The Bible uses the word "new" several times. The Lord created a new world
for us. The Bible also shows us that He
has the power to make old things again. This week I'll share scriptures which discuss the relationship between the
Lord and things made new.
LIFE LESSON:
NEW WORLD FOR THE LORD'S CHILDREN
GENESIS 1:1-2
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
GENESIS 2:2-3
2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
DEPICTION: AFTER THE FLOOD
LIFE LESSON:
NEW BEGINNING AFTER THE FLOOD
Genesis 8:21-22
21 And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
22 “While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”
