Matthew 7:6

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, 
neither cast ye your pearls before swine, 
lest they trample them under their feet, 
and turn again and rend you. 




HISTORICAL CONTEXT

Dogs were not treated like pampered 
pets during the Bible days. They were
not very domesticated and were usually
fed  table scraps of food. Pigs were thought
to be unclean according to the Bible book, Deuteronomy 14 and Leviticus 11. The 
Israelites did not eat pork.

 
LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY



The life lesson in this scripture is, do not share
your secrets or valuable information with people
that are not trustworthy.  If you have a friend 
who tells you confidential information about
someone, be careful. This friend maybe sharing
your secrets with someone too.  Do not share business plans or ideas with relatives, friends.
or people who never give you positive feed

back.  They are not very supportive and often
reject or demean every new idea or plan you
share with them.

CALLED BY THE LORD, PART 6

DEPICTION OF JONAH RUNNING AWAY FROM THE LORD I was doing Bible study one night and it became clear to me that, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Deborah, Jael, Lydia, Seller of Purple, Rehab, The Twelve Disciples, and Paul were all CALLED by God. The Lord may require  some people to carry out a special task.There will be others that may be required to minister His Word and  travel around the world as a missionary.      This week I'll share scriptures about different men  and women that were called by the Lord. Some of these people were rebellious and did not want to answer His call.  All eventually did the Lord's will. Today, I will share scriptures which discuss that the Lord CALLED a man named Jonah.  He did not want to answer the Lord's call and ran away.  There were consequences to Jonah's actions.
