BIBLE DAYS FASHIONS!

Egyptian Hieroglyphics Depicting Elaborate Adornments

I watch a TV show sometimes that talks about make up and fashion.  Some days I can't stand to watch it  for fear of becoming vain.I want to look good and be conscious of new fashion trends. I am smart enough to know every fashion  trend does not look good on  everybody.  I do not desire to be a fashionista and I do not want to dress like my mother either.

I must say that I respect the Lord and try to go to church modestly dressed.  I am not saying churches need a dress code. But, I am amazed at some of the clothes people wear to church! I would not wear the same clothes that I use when jogging or cleaning my  garage or house.  I would never wear a mini skirt and provocative skin tight clothes either. The wearing of  tops or dresses with a lot of cleavage is a no-no for me too.There is some clothing that is not appropriate
for work and the same goes for the church too.

The following Bible scriptures discuss vanity
and clothing:

LIFE LESSON:

DON'T SPEND A LOT ON TIME ON LOOKING BEAUTIFUL.FOCUS ON PLEASING THE LORD.

PROVERBS  31:30

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

PSALM  119:37

Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things,
And revive me in Your way.

1 TIMOTHY  2:9

In like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest
apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold
 or pearls or costly clothing,

1 PETER  3:3

Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting
on fine apparel—

JEREMIAH  4:30

And when you are plundered,
What will you do?
Though you clothe yourself with crimson,
Though you adorn yourself with ornaments of gold,
Though you enlarge your eyes with paint,
In vain you will make yourself fair;
Your lovers will despise you;
They will seek your life.

ECCLESIASTES  5:10

He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver;
Nor he who loves abundance, with increase.
This also is vanity.

1 PETER  3:3

Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair,
wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—

Women have been into fashion since Bible days.
I discovered this when I was doing research for
my blog, Bible Stories Are True.  Numerous hair
ornaments and priceless jewels have been found
by archaeologists in the Middle East.  Here are
some images of their discoveries:

Pair of Gold Hair Ornaments, Mesopotamian,

An Egyptian 18th Dynasty Pharaonic era princess' crown

Amulet pendant (1254 BC) made from  gold, lapis lanzuli, turquoise, carnelian and 14 cm wide.
 Gold Earring From  Mycenae, 16th Century BC.
Hellenistic bracelets from the 1st century BC
Byzantine Wedding Ring

Jewelry Found In Jerusalem 614 A.D in 2013
