THE CROSSING OF THE RED SEA

A great movie was made in Hollywood called,The Ten Commandments in 1956.It has been preserved by The Library of Congress.  The American Film Institute took and poll and this great movie is listed among The Best Top Ten American films.The movie includes the Pillar of Clouds and the Parting of the Red Sea.  This film was  produced  and directed by Cecil B. DeMille.  He did an outstanding portrayal of these events.  

 Today I'll share the scriptures which give details about God's miracles: The Pillar of Clouds and The Parting of The Red Sea.



LIFE LESSON:

 PHARAOH LETS THE ISRAELITES GO. GOD GUIDES THEM WITH A PILLAR OF CLOUD 
DAY AND NIGHT.

 EXODUS 13: 17-18, 20-22

 17  Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had
let the people go, that God did not lead them  
by way of the land of the Philistines, although
that was near; for God said,"Lest perhaps the
people change their minds when they see war,
and return to Egypt.” 
18 So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of 
Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land 
of Egypt.


20 So they took their journey from Succoth and camped in Etham at the edge of the wilderness.
21  And the Lord went before them by day in a 
pillar of cloud to lead the way,  and by night in 
a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by
day and night.
22 He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day
or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.



 LIFE LESSON:

THE EGYPTIANS ARE PURSUING THE ISRAELITES.  GOD SENDS CLOUD OF 
DARKNESS TO EGYPTIANS SO THEY 
COULD NOT COME NEAR  THEM.


EXODUS 14: 19-20

19 And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.  
20 So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.


LIFE LESSON:

THE PARTING OF THE RED SEA SO ISRAELITES CAN ESCAPE FROM THE EGYPTIANS.



 EXODUS 14:  15-16,  26-29

 
15 And the Lord said to Moses,“Why do you cry
to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.  
16  But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand 
over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

 
26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”  
27  And Moses stretched out his hand over the
sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full  depth, while the Egyptians 
were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 
28  Then the waters returned and covered 
the  chariots, the  horsemen, and all the 
army of Pharaoh that  came into the sea 
after them. Not so much as one of them
remained.  
29 But the children of Israel had walked
on dry land in the midst of the sea, and
the waters were a wall to them on their 
right hand and on their left.

CALLED BY THE LORD, PART 6

The Lord may require  some people to carry out a special task.There will be others that may be required to minister His Word and  travel around the world as a missionary.      This week I'll share scriptures about different men  and women that were called by the Lord. Some of these people were rebellious and did not want to answer His call.  All eventually did the Lord's will. Today, I will share scriptures which discuss that the Lord CALLED a man named Jonah.  He did not want to answer the Lord's call and ran away.  There were consequences to Jonah's actions.
