LIFE LESSON FOR TODAY

 HEART TO HEART TALK

 I try to serve the Lord without regard to what 
people will think or say about me. I can never
please everyone and I do not try. Some people 
care a lot about appearances and what others
think about them.  If I always try to please 
others, I will become a dishonest person. I am
not being true to myself.  I don't want anyone 
to have that kind of power over me. 

 My main concern is to try to show brotherly love.  Have you ever heard the phrase, "What you see
if what you get" ?  I want to appear genuine and 
not be pretentious.

CALLED BY THE LORD, PART 6

DEPICTION OF JONAH RUNNING AWAY FROM THE LORD I was doing Bible study one night and it became clear to me that, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Deborah, Jael, Lydia, Seller of Purple, Rehab, The Twelve Disciples, and Paul were all CALLED by God. The Lord may require  some people to carry out a special task.There will be others that may be required to minister His Word and  travel around the world as a missionary.      This week I'll share scriptures about different men  and women that were called by the Lord. Some of these people were rebellious and did not want to answer His call.  All eventually did the Lord's will. Today, I will share scriptures which discuss that the Lord CALLED a man named Jonah.  He did not want to answer the Lord's call and ran away.  There were consequences to Jonah's actions. The Bible also tells us that the Lord is "not a respecter of persons"and accepts all who will respect him. It can be His will to use a harlot (prostitute)
